Geert Peetermans

Geert Peetermans is currently Supply Chain Director in the Global Supply Chain organization at Amgen leading the Global Supply Chain Business Process Management program and is located in the European Logistic Center in Breda, The Netherlands. Amgen with headquarters located in Thousand Oaks, US is world’s leading independent biotechnology company. Amgen discovers, develops, makes and sells biologic medicines. 

Geert joined Amgen in 2003 where he led the Nephrology Business unit for the Belux region and was member of the Belgian Management Team. In 2011 he was nominated Director Customer Service for Amgen Europe heading the shared service for Customer Service located in Breda, The Netherlands. During this assignment Geert focused on operational excellence in the Customer Service department and launched a customer care program looking at automation and process improvements. At the end of 2013 Geert transitioned into the role of Operational Excellence Director in the Global Supply Chain driving a Lean culture in all non-manufacturing departments. End of 2015 Geert took on the role as Global Network Lead for Customer Care and Order Management in the Global Supply Chain Excellence & Innovation department and as of end 2016 he is also leading the Business Process Management work stream across Plan, Source, make and deliver in the Amgen’s Global Supply Chain organization. 

Prior to Amgen, Geert has already spend more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry with growing responsibilities in sales and marketing positions in several Pharma companies. 

Geert holds a Master in Physical Education from the University of Leuven. Next to this he specialized in Sales & Marketing Management at Group T in Leuven and followed a Pharmaceutical mini MBA at the Management Centre Europe in Brussels and a Management Course Pharmaceutical Business at the Institute for Pharmaceutical Business Administration Belgium. Geert also got certified in Supply Chain Management by PICS, Belgium, Is SCOR-P certified and has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
