Regis Simard is a Mechanical Engineer and also holds an MBA. He has held senior management positions in the Electronic and Tech industries (Sony, Konica-Minolta) and in the Healthcare and Medical devices industries (Covidien) where he gained valuable experience working with Japan,China, UK and France.
Regis joined GlaxoSmithKline in 2005 as Site Director at the GSK France plant at Notre Dame de Bondeville, then moved to GSK House UK to lead the Antibiotics and Latina Manufacturing cluster.
In January 2011, Regis was appointed Commercial Partner Emerging Markets & Asia Pacific and in January 2013 Regis was appointed to Senior Vice President /Head of Europe and EMAP Pharma Supply.
Regis moved into his latest role as Senior Vice President, Global Pharma Manufacturing (GMS) in January 2017. This position includes overseeing 17 factories and 10,000 employees globally, plus GMS global planning, and two franchise supply chains covering speciality and respiratory. Regis is also a member of the Supply Chain Executive team.

Stephan Gotthardt is the Senior Vice President Supply Chain Europe at Teva Pharmaceuticals. He has a strong international portfolio of (end-to-end) supply chain, operations and general management experience, with proven performance in global, strategic and cross-functional projects.Stephan has demonstrated success in several change management initiatives on local and global scale, fundamental re-design of product launch and life cycle processes, restructuring of supply chains, establishment of a customer-centric mindset.

At Pfizer, Danny is accountable for all aspects of end-to-end intercompany logistics delivery and order management operations, following the principles and parameters of Pfizer’s highly orchestrated supply network. Danny has more than 20 years of operational and leadership experience and whilst defining intercompany operations strategy, his unique approach to driving change in network and distribution design is not just about managing cost and efficiency, it is also about meeting customer needs throughout portfolio evolution.
Val is responsible for Logistics Europe & PTC/PP at Teva Pharmaceuticals, and was previously responsible for international logistics at Actavis. In his role he oversees global procurement, demand planning, & logistics., S&OP implementation on global level and the planning of numerous new product releases & rollovers. Val leads and drives many global and cross functional transformations with a focus on cost reduction initiatives (elimination of waste) and LEAN continuous process improvements.
Brandon’s Supply Chain career spans 25 years across multiple industry sectors – Gas, Food, Filtration, Med devices, Aerospace and more recently Pharmaceuticals. He is currently responsible for the end-to-end Supply Chain for Actavis UK and Ireland who supply 1 in 7 generic medicine prescriptions to the public. With 4 company ownerships in the last 2 years the biggest challenge has been integration and separation without any disruption to product supply and customers. Supply Chain strategy, connectivity and agility combined with ERP implementations are his specialist areas.
Vitalba leads the team of Global Logistics Quality that is responsible for quality and compliance oversight to active substance and finish product distribution from Switzerland to worldwide customers. This means to oversight the Third Party Service Provides accountable for warehouse and distribution activities. Prior to this, Philippe has worked in various positions in Manufacturing, Supply chain, Purchasing activities and also in Research & Development. His experience spans across several sectors, with more than 10 years in the Pharmaceutical industry. Philippe graduated from Ecole des Mines de St Etienne in General Engineering.
Deepa is responsible for the Management Business Process of Chemical Operations based on the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) principles, working in partnership with the rest of the Chemical Operations leadership team to reach the Class A standard. Deepa joined Novartis in 2004 and held various roles with increasing responsibility in Supply Chain Management and joined Chemical Operations in 2012 .Prior to joining Novartis Deepa worked in Tata Motors and in Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. Deepa is a Mechanical Engineer and holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Dr. Frank Binder is VP, Head of Global Supply Chain Management, at Santen, a specialized pharmaceutical company focusing on Ophthalmics, headquartered in Osaka, Japan. He is based in Geneva, while reporting directly into the Osaka senior leadership. His mission is transforming Santen’s world wide Supply Chain, enabling Santen to globalize its business from its dominant position in the Japanese market, to rapid growth in Europe, Asia and Americas. His overall approach is to link the regional SCM teams into a truly global organization, and implement efficient global processes and systems, while launching new products at global level and expanding to new markets. Frank oversees a team of over 70 Supply Chain professionals, who are based in Japan, Europe and Singapore. With Santen’s rapid geographical expansion, and its portfolio consisting of mostly high volume Rx, and also of OTC products, it is Franks priority to ensure that the Supply Chain organization delivers significant value to the company, and is recognized as a key business partner to the commercial and financial organizations. Frank holds a doctorate (Dr. phil. nat.) in Chemistry from University of Berne, having done his doctoral research in physical chemistry. Managing teams and stakeholders across the world, and across very different business cultures, is one of his daily challenges; he has a multicultural background himself, and is fluent in several languages (English, French, German, Spanish, and basic Mandarin), and has significant management experience in executive roles, spanning Europe, Asia and the US. Neil has 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with an extensive track record of delivery in a range of commercial roles. He has wide leadership experience both in operational roles as a General Manager and in strategic transformation programmes. In addition to experience of strategy development he has successfully led numerous cross-functional implementation and change programmes at local, regional and global level to drive growth and profitability. Since 2013, he has worked extensively on building cross-functional collaboration and partnership across Commercial, Finance and Supply Chain functions. He is currently Vice-President, Core Commercial Cycle for GlaxoSmithKline where he has been responsible for the successful global deployment of S&OP across its £24billion global business. Stefano Ragni is Global business process owner in GSK for Supply Chain Planning processes, including architecture, people’s roles & responsibilities, cross-functional integration and capability built to enable the business model. Stefano led similar programmes and held operational leadership roles for Integrated Business Planning and Demand Planning in other industries, such as FMCG (eg Heinz) and Automotive (eg Goodyear Dunlop). Beyond his integrated Supply Chain leadership skills, Stefano’s background includes roles in finance, capital engineering and systems implementation.
As Head of the Chemical Operations platform Jerh is responsible for the worldwide manufacturing and supply of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). Over the last 23 years Jerh has amassed considerable experience in the pharmaceutical sector working with Novartis, Merck & Co and Eli Lilly. He joined Novartis through ChemOps Ringaskiddy in 1993 and has successfully held a variety of roles in Ireland, Basel and the UK, including involvement in the launch of Glivec in 2002, Managing Director of ChemOps Grimsby Ltd before returning to Basel in 2010 as Head of ChemOps Switzerland. A graduate of University College Cork, Jerh holds a degree in Chemistry, a doctorate in Organic Synthesis and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Cancer Research Institute at Arizona State University, USA.
Stephen’s current role is End to End Logistics Partnership Quality Lead, overseeing all quality aspects of GSK’s global partnership with distribution partner Kuehne & Nagel. He specialises in GDP compliance and global quality standards for 3PLs. Previous experience includes category quality roles for both Unilever and Dairy Crest. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute and has worked on a cross industry initiative with the Pharmaceutical Quality Group and the European Compliance Academy to publish chapter 3, Premises and Equipment, of the ECA/ PQG GDP guidelines.
Eduardo was born and raised in Mexico City, where he obtained a Bachelor in Science in Mechanical Engineering. After completing a MBA in Carnegie Mellon in the USA, Eduardo joined McKinsey from 2000 to 2008, working in Supply Chain across multiple industries and geographies. After joining AstraZeneca in 2008, Eduardo has had several supply chain roles in the Americas organization. Since 2014 Eduardo is one of AstraZeneca Global Supply Directors, currently in charge of the oral solids anti diabetes portfolio.
Arie is responsible for advancing the Planning Maturity, within Global Surgery, the second largest segment within J&J. Arie focuses on establishing benchmark planning processes, strategy development and driving innovation, leading his global team across 12 locations worldwide, and Under his remit, highly successfully strategies and processes have been implemented to translate customer needs into innovative Supply Chain Capabilities. Arie will be speaking on the Data analytics roundable at 17:20 on day 1 - Wednesday April 26th.
Patrycja leads the distribution network optimization program for the EUCAN/NEMEA regions, where she has implemented a highly successful Principal Structure Operating model for network design. She has also led her team in the launch of the Global Specialty Cold Chain portfolio distribution network, with a focus on increasing customer service and patient experience.
Mirko joined Pfizer in 2007 in the Market Logistics Italy team. In August 2008, he relocated to the European Logistics Centre in Belgium, where he held several roles and achieved his Six-Sigma Black Belt certification. He joined the Business Solutions team in 2011 and took its leadership in 2014. After moving to London, where he is currently based, his responsibilities expanded since March 2015 to become Director of the Network Solutions & Excellence Team in EMEA, part of the Global Supply Chain, External Supply and Portfolio Management organisation..Mirko holds a Master's Degree in Business Economics from Università degli Studi di Salerno (Italy). Prior to joining Pfizer, Mirko worked as a Business Analyst at EuroGroup Consulting.
Piero is directly responsible for managing the supply chain for Sandoz Germany and Hexal AG. The following areas belong to his area of responsibility: Marketing Planning/Demand Planning, Intercompany Supply Chain Management, Sales & Operations Planning, Launch & Transfer Management Germany, Supply & Customer Service Germany, Contract Manufacturing and Supply Chain Reporting. Piero also has extensive experience in establishing and optimizing the supply chain for Sandoz in the Middle East & Africa region where his focused strategy was not just about increasing Sandoz’s footprint in the region, but also about supporting a profitable and sustainable growth of business there. He is also a member of the German Sandoz Executive Committee.
Barbara has responsibility for end-to-end activities required to ensure timely availability of orphan medicinal product to patients affected by a rare disease: Procurement and production, packaging and distribution - in collaboration with a network of CMOs and service providers. Barbara harnesses thirty years of work experience at Roche and small specialty pharma companies.
Dr. Emre Göllü was born in Istanbul, 1975. He has accomplished his BSc at ITU Chemical Engineering Department in 1997. He has obtained his MSc degree in Chemical Engineering at ITU Institute of Science in 1999 and his Executive MBA degree at ITU Institute of Social Sciences in 2002. Title of PhD was granted to him at the Business Administration Programme of Okan University Institute of Social Sciences in 2014 with the specialization on management and thesis about supply chain management. He has started his career as research and teaching assistant at ITU Chemical Engineering Department and he sustains his career in the pharmaceutical sector since seventeen years. Currently he is working for UCB Pharma as Senior Supply Chain Manager and the CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control – Technical operations starting from API production) Representative for Turkey and MENA Region. He speaks German, English and French. His professional and academic areas of study consist of supply chain management, logistics, purchasing management, operations management, strategic management, management and organizations, and sports management. Dr. Göllü has participated in the events like Logipharma 2016, CPhI Istanbul 2016, and Economy and Logistics Summit as keynote speaker and panelist.
Matthias is an experienced professional with more than 19 years of work experience in supply chain management and business reengineering projects. He started his career in consultancy and is highly experienced in design and operation of integrated ERP systems. Matthias managed multi-national projects of various scales in process, repetitive and discrete manufacturing.He joined the business side in 2007 to work for pharmaceutical companies in the originator and generics market. He worked in international assignments in Africa, North America and Europe and possesses a profound knowledge of planning processes in regulated industries as well as of operational processes in commercial and manufacturing sites. He is in charge at Arena for customer service, purchasing, planning, data management and project management. He was also in charge for the successful GoLive of SOLO, a big business transformation program from Arena to achieve full autonomy for all key business processes, core infrastructure and pivotal IT applications of the Swiss manufacturing site.
Manfred is directly responsible for orchestrating and overseeing the technical and supply chain aspects of partner companies of Roche worldwide from concept through to establishment of the relationship, and relationship management to phase out. Within his role, Manfred and his team manage the 30+ licensee partnerships, most of them in Emerging Markets, and 10+ product divestment partners worldwide. Manfred has worked for more than 30 years in Roche Global technical Operations and gained experience in managing site operations, overseeing the technical integration of acquired businesses as well as business and brand divestitures and most recently evaluating and shaping partner relationships , where his vast experience in negotiating, establishing and managing the technical side of partner relationships ensures a smooth and efficient collaboration so that quality product supply and achievement of business results are ensured.
Gabriela has more than 18 years of solid experience in Merck having taken different positions. In October 2015 she assumed the position of Managing Director at Merck Uruguay after many years acting as Chief Financial Officer. In addition to this role, Gabriela has also been responsible for the areas of IS, Procurement, Human Resources and acted as a Local Compliance Officer.
Gabriela has a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Business Administration from the University of the Republic and has a post-graduation degree in Management Development from IEEM, business school in Montevideo.
Simona is directly responsible for ensuring a fully compliant supply chain according to the EU GDP guidelines and other global regulations. In particular, Simona’s expertise ensure that temperature control requirements are met in difficult regions.
Christian has worked for over 20 years in the Healthcare industry. Early 1990, he played an instrumental role in the establishment of narcotic control, by using the GS1 system in Switzerland. In parallel, as from 1995 elements of the GS1 System were deployed for improving accuracy and efficiency of information about the healthcare supply chain, by reducing administrative costs. Later the TARMED national claim programme leveraged the same GS1 identification keys. Christian works for GS1 Switzerland and other GS1 organisations since 2003, focussing on interoperability for IT standards in the healthcare industry. He currently represents GS1 in organisations such as ISO TC 215 (Health Informatics; since 2012, he chairs the Working Group 6 “Pharmacy” in this Technical Committee), CEN TC 251, HL7 and ICCBBA (transfusion and transplantation). In his role of ISO TC 215 / WG 6 Convenor, Christian is involved in development of IDMP standards and implementation guides. He further is part of the European H 2020 project “openMedicine”, where IDMP finds its concrete application for safer care and increased efficiencies in cross-border prescriptions/dispensations. Christian contributes to the board of the Swiss Society for Medical Informatics and was the first chairman for IHE Suisse, which included the organisation of an European Connectathon in Bern. Christian teaches Healthcare logistics for a few years at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Christian has recently been asked to contribute to the “INTERPOL World” conference, which took place in Singapore in April 2015.
Ann Merchant is President of Schreiner MediPharm, a business unit of Schreiner Group based in Oberschleissheim near Munich in Germany. Schreiner MediPharm develops and produces innovative, multi-functional specialty labels with value-added benefits for the pharmaceutical industry. Ann is responsible for the sales organization, global strategy and further development of the business unit building on the worldwide network of sales representatives and local US production.
Prior to joining Schreiner MediPharm, Ann was VP International Supply Chain for Amgen Europe BV in The Netherlands. There she was responsible for Amgen Inc.´s sole international packaging and distribution facility as well as Operation´s primary point of contact for international expansion efforts in Middle East Africa, CEE and South America. She has over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in the areas of financial planning, strategic decision support and global commercial supply strategy at both the corporate and affiliate level in the US and Europe.
Ann holds a BSc in Languages from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., and a Master in Business Administration from Henley Management College, UK.
In his role leading PwC’s European pharmaceutical supply chain community, he has worked with clients and colleagues to develop critical and engaging analysis on the evolution of the sector and the role supply chain needs to play in the provision of healthcare whilst remaining focused on the legal, fiscal and regulatory needs.
Johnathon has worked on a range of complex and high profile program’s during his consulting career, from the National Program for IT, looking to transform healthcare IT systems to Global Supply Chain operating model changes, impacting in excess of 100 countries. These experiences provide Johnathon with a clear perspective on how to drive business transformations that embrace significant change to the core business operating model, the skills of the organisation and enabling technology platforms.
Prior to his move to consulting Johnathon had 5 years of industry experience in fast-moving consumer goods industries where he held positions in distribution, manufacturing, demand planning.

At TraceLink, Mr. Aulnette collaborates with companies across the EMEA markets to ensure visibility, traceability and compliance from ingredient to patient. Previously, Mr. Aulnette held a succession of leadership roles spanning 15 years serving companies throughout Life Sciences. At Abbott Diagnostics, he led development of enterprise solutions to help improve business processes. Mr. Aulnette stated in Life Sciences at Aster Cephac where he focused on contract research. Prior to joining Amber Road, Nick’s career has covered such areas as trade finance, trade compliance, logistics and distribution - spanning Europe, Africa and the Far East.
Previous roles have included spells at HSBC for 4 years, before moving in 1987 to the supply chain and CRM technology sectors with such Companies as Firepond (FIRE) (VP Operations Europe) and Oracle (ORCL).
Over the past ten years Nick has specialized in the supply chain compliance space, helping develop automated Trade Management platforms and strategies that aid Clients meet ever-changing global regulatory challenges. After he graduated in behavioural sciencesand economics he joined World Courier’s Customer Service Team in 2008 andfilled various positions while serving the pharmaceutical and biotech industrythrough several projects before being appointed Sales Manager for Germany in2012. Prior to this, Jim spent 25+ years in the healthcareindustry, at Grifols (formerly Talecris / Bayer) as Senior Director GlobalDemand Planning & Customer Operations where he led a team of supply chainand logistics professionals providing life-saving and quality of lifemedicines. He remains focused onoperational excellence developing disciplined sales & operations planningprocesses and industry leading cold chain logistics practices.
Mark is accountable for the Commercial strategy for Movianto acrossEurope and is directly responsible for business development and marketing. Withover 20 years’ experience of leadership in Healthcare distribution, includingPharmacy, Wholesale and 3rd party distribution, he has seen the long termdevelopment of the healthcare supply chain and the impact on service levelsacross Europe as one size fits all solutions have evolved towards patientcentricity.
Olivier Simonnot has been working for Sensitech Inc., UTC Climate Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp., for nine years and currently holds the position of Senior Manager Strategic Marketing, Life Sciences EMEA. He previously held several positions in Marketing and Product Management in several international technology oriented companies. He holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the French engineering school ESIGETEL and a Master in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management. He is an active member of the French Cold Chain Association, participated in the sub-commission on Metrology and Risk Assessment, Last Mile and is currently active in the EU GDP working group.
Allen brings nearly 30 years of pharma and health sciences supply chain experience to FusionOps. He joined FusionOps from Pfizer, Inc., where as VP of Network Supply Planning, he was responsible for production planning, issue identification and mitigation via S&OP processes, and global inventory. Prior to Pfizer, he was AVP of Supply Chain for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Director of Supply Chain for Baxter Bioscience, and managed a medical device joint venture in Yugoslavia. Allen received his degree in Microbiology from the University of Maryland and did graduate work and research in immunology at Johns Hopkins University.
Geert Peetermans is currently Supply Chain Director in the Global Supply Chain organization at Amgen leading the Global Supply Chain Business Process Management program and is located in the European Logistic Center in Breda, The Netherlands. Amgen with headquarters located in Thousand Oaks, US is world’s leading independent biotechnology company. Amgen discovers, develops, makes and sells biologic medicines.
Geert joined Amgen in 2003 where he led the Nephrology Business unit for the Belux region and was member of the Belgian Management Team. In 2011 he was nominated Director Customer Service for Amgen Europe heading the shared service for Customer Service located in Breda, The Netherlands. During this assignment Geert focused on operational excellence in the Customer Service department and launched a customer care program looking at automation and process improvements. At the end of 2013 Geert transitioned into the role of Operational Excellence Director in the Global Supply Chain driving a Lean culture in all non-manufacturing departments. End of 2015 Geert took on the role as Global Network Lead for Customer Care and Order Management in the Global Supply Chain Excellence & Innovation department and as of end 2016 he is also leading the Business Process Management work stream across Plan, Source, make and deliver in the Amgen’s Global Supply Chain organization.
Prior to Amgen, Geert has already spend more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry with growing responsibilities in sales and marketing positions in several Pharma companies.
Geert holds a Master in Physical Education from the University of Leuven. Next to this he specialized in Sales & Marketing Management at Group T in Leuven and followed a Pharmaceutical mini MBA at the Management Centre Europe in Brussels and a Management Course Pharmaceutical Business at the Institute for Pharmaceutical Business Administration Belgium. Geert also got certified in Supply Chain Management by PICS, Belgium, Is SCOR-P certified and has a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Patrick comes to us with more than 15 years of enterprise software experience, a strong background in SCM, as well as deep knowledge of the High-Tech and Automotive industries.
Patrick started his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. where he advised European firms in the areas of strategy and operational excellence. This early exposure to supply chain management led him to i2 Technologies, where he was one of the first employees in Europe. In charge of i2’s High-Tech Industry, Patrick and his team were key in securing i2’s success with European technology companies. He later joined supply chain vendors flexis AG where he developed the North American market and LogicTools, Inc. where he was building the European operations before the company was acquired by ILOG. While at SAP, he was the Industry Director for the automotive industry, in charge of the business development and pre-sales activities for the automotive industry across EMEA. More recently, Patrick was at frog, the design and innovation company, where he was in charge of frog’s business with its largest clients across Europe.
Patrick brings 20 years of supply chain practice. Key areas of expertise include: sales & operations planning (S&OP), order promising, inventory optimization, supplier collaboration, manufacturing strategy. In his 18 years with UPS in the US & Europe, Conor has held various roles in sales and solutions. Prior to setting up a Healthcare Sector sales team in Europe in 2011, Conor worked on aligning the UPS small parcel, freight forwarding and contracts logistics sales teams in Europe into an enterprise wide sales force that supports our customers with solutions across the UPS portfolio. From 1999 until 2003, Conor was responsible for developing service parts logistics solutions for high tech & aerospace blue chip companies in the US.
Before joining UPS, Conor worked in operational roles delivering customized distribution, transportation and field inventory management solutions for high tech OEMs in the US. Conor received his Bachelor Degree in Management Science from Trinity College, Dublin and in Marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology.
Gian manages all cargo activities at EuroAirport, ensuring development in terms of quality, volume and frequencies/network. In his role, he ensures all stakeholders involved in the supply chain are brought together to make sure the shipping industry requirements are clearly identified and met. In addition, he contributes through various initiatives and associations in order to improve the air cargo standards, at airports - primarily for the Pharma industry.
Mr. Johan Helmrich is the Head of Pharma Sales of Envirotainer since October 2016. Prior to working at the company, he had received 16 years of commercial experience in the pharma industry, of which 13 years was at AbbVie - working with Humira since the launch and most recently responsible for the business unit in Sweden. He has also gained extensive experience from life cycle management of different phases including several product launches. Mr. Helmrich had received a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy and Market Economist.
Anna Levander is the CSO at Envirotainer, the global market leader in cold chain solutions for the pharmaceutical supply chain. She has more than 15 years of operational experience in pharmaceuticals, medtech and diagnostics, and is a leading advocate in the game changing opportunities with data on intelligent supply chain solutions and precision medicine to bring improved quality in order to reach care and cure.
Previously, Ms. Levander worked at Thermo Fischer Scientific where she held the position as VP Sales & Marketing, Europe. She has also held various roles at Abbott’s different divisions, as Commercial Director for Abbott Diabetes Care and a member of the pharma division’s European business development team (now Abbvie). Furthermore, she has been product and portfolio manager at Pfizer US.
Mrs. Levander has been a board member of Ellen AB (medical devices) and Medcore AB (medical device distributor). She has also been chairman of the industry group Diabetes, Swedish Medtech and a member of the steering committee for project KI 2.0 (entrepreneurship at Karolinska Institutet, one of the world´s leading medical universities).

Combining Connectivity with his knowledge of the supply chain enables Irwin to develop end to end modern day business solutions. Manik joined Kinaxis in the Fall of 2012, bringing over 15 years of experience in the industry. Manik came to Kinaxis after spending twelve years in solution selling and consulting positions with JDA /i2. Alexander Schäfer spent all of his career in the (contract) manufacturing space working his way from the personal care sector into the pharmaceutical industry. He worked on both sides of the table heading positions in Purchasing before changing to the dark side to work in Sales & Marketing for the last 18 years. Alexander joined Sharp Packaging Solutions 3 years ago to focus on contract packaging and serialisation services. After having studied economics in the very South of Germany he worked his way up with now being home based in the very North of Germany mainly supporting the German, Swiss and Austrian markets. When not trying to upgrade his frequent flyer status, he tries to keep the German and the Irish side of the family happy by not spending even more time with outside business activities.

Most of my team can usually be found on facebook checking into many remote locations in the name of work!! I’ve been with AZ nearly 9 years and during that time we have seen a significant change in our approach to Logistics, we are most widely known for broadcasting our intention to transition 2/3 of our global freight from air to sea.
